Noelle completed her B.S. in Biochemistry at Purdue University, where she focused on identifying antifungal drug targets. She also investigated therapeutic targets for neurofibromatosis types 1 and 2 at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Outside of the lab, she enjoys playing the violin, following sports, traveling, and running.

Noelle Naughton (research specialist)

Helen completed her PhD at the University of Leicester, investigating prognostic metabolomic biomarkers in a cohort of acute heart failure patients. In April 2023 she started a 6 month project at the University of Minnesota, where she established a proteome integral solubility assay for ovarian cancer drug targets. When not in the lab, she likes exploring Philadelphia and supporting Leeds United.

Helen Jordan (postdoctoral fellow)

Vineeth completed his Ph.D. at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) in Bangalore, India. His research focused on investigating the signaling and metabolic regulators involved in the process of glucose repression. He is passionate about understanding how the regulation of metabolic states influences and controls cell fates. Vineeth enjoys painting, traveling, and the company of dogs.

Vineeth Vengayil (postdoctoral fellow)

Joe Tandurella (graduate student joint with Wherry lab)

Joe is a graduate student in the Cancer Biology program at Penn. He graduated from the College of New Jersey in 2021 with a degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Statistics. Joe then joined the labs of Elizabeth Jaffee and Elana Fertig at Johns Hopkins, where he worked to understand the signaling mechanisms between PDAC tumors and its TME components through various -omic technologies. He now aims to understand the role of metabolism during CD8+ T cell differentiation during viral infection and cancer.

Amelia Taylor is an MD/PhD student in the Pharmacology Graduate Group. She received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 2021 with majors in Chemistry and Philosophy. During her time at Vanderbilt, she worked in the lab of John McLean and gained extensive experience in mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and its applications in human health and disease, specifically studying the connection between Alzheimer’s Disease and diet.  In the Bartman lab, she is interested in developing novel technologies to study metabolism and target disease pathology. Outside of science, she enjoys powerlifting, pottery, and hanging out with her two cats.

Amelia Taylor (MD/PhD graduate student)

Caroline completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Josh Rabinowitz at Princeton studying tumor metabolic fluxes as a Damon Runyon/Mark Foundation fellow and a K99 awardee, and a Ph.D. with Gerd Blobel and Arjun Raj at UPenn studying transcriptional regulation. She likes the TCA cycle, reading science fiction, and bad jokes.
